“I am constantly inspired by the way in which yoga sparks mindfulness off and on the mat, and I seek to support my students in our each of our journeys of self-discovery, curiosity, awareness and inquiry.” -Sasha
Sasha Nelson is a yoga instructor, wellness + lifestyle coach, sustainability enthusiast, dancer and music lover from California, based in Brooklyn. She works with individuals who are looking to seamlessly integrate wellness practices into their modern lifestyle and teaches vinyasa-style yoga. An avid traveler, she seeks to discover and introduce yogic principles and practices in the form of food and culture worldwide. Sasha is committed to a sustainable lifestyle from the food we eat to the clothes we wear, products we purchase, and way we live. A former Fashion Merchandising MFA graduate from Academy of Art University with an emphasis in eco-friendly fashion, she now works for Hyde organic yoga apparel.
Sasha teaches vinyasa-style classes which flow in tandem with attention to the breath, alignment, and thoughtful execution. She applies yogic principles of sthira (effort)/sukha (ease) via sequences that challenge strength, mindfulness and dedication, while simultaneously encouraging softness, playfulness, and the appreciation of simply showing up for yourself exactly as you are.
When you don’t find her doing any of the aforementioned she is experimenting in the kitchen, poppin’ and lockin’, exploring new places, and practicing Breakti®. For more information, visit sashayogawellness.com.
