Sasha Nelson is a yoga instructor, wellness + lifestyle coach, sustainability enthusiast, dancer and music lover from California, based in Brooklyn. She works with individuals who are looking to seamlessly integrate wellness practices into their modern lifestyle and teaches vinyasa-style yoga. An avid traveler, she seeks to discover and introduce yogic principles and practices in the form of food and culture worldwide. Sasha is committed to a sustainable lifestyle from the food we eat to the clothes we wear, products we purchase, and way we live. A former Fashion Merchandising MFA graduate from Academy of Art University with an emphasis in eco-friendly fashion, she now works for Hyde organic yoga apparel.
Sasha teaches vinyasa-style classes which flow in tandem with attention to the breath, alignment, and thoughtful execution. She applies yogic principles of sthira (effort)/sukha (ease) via sequences that challenge strength, mindfulness and dedication, while simultaneously encouraging softness, playfulness, and the appreciation of simply showing up for yourself exactly as you are.

Kelly’s teaching style reflects her interest in building physical and mental strength to meet life’s challenges. Her classes blend the strengthening and the restorative aspects of yoga, with modifications for beginners and options for regular practitioners. Her training includes 200-hour and 500-hour certifications from Yogaworks, as well as specialty trainings to work with students affected by trauma, cancer, and addiction. Kelly lives in Brooklyn and is an Associate Professor at CUNY, where she teaches Caribbean literature.
Amy is a movement artist, a yoga practitioner of over 9 years and a classically trained ballet dancer of 11 years. She recently completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Stanton Street Yoga and is currently studying with acclaimed New York choreographer, Daria Fain, under her Two-Year Certification Program: C O R E M O T I O N, a movement practice rooted in the Chinese Five-Element Theory and Qigong fundamentals.
Amy believes that the exploration of movement in its infinite forms, is a means to understanding one self and one’s relationship in and to the world. She is especially interested in somatic awareness practices that develop an understanding of moving body in relation to space as an ever unfolding creative process, that which is life, itself.

She managed two restaurants in Danny Meyer’s hospitality empire, worked on a top residential & commercial real estate sales team with The Corcoran Group, built one of the world’s largest and most prosperous Manhattan BNI (Business Network International) chapters, and served as WeWork’s founding Head of Community — overseeing operations for their first 275 offices. When not at Primary, you’ll likely find Lisa traveling with Brian and their baby Henry, practicing hot yoga, and/or eating coconut peanut butter.
As an entrepreneurial wellness leader, Brian has ventured into many dimensions of the health & wellness industry from launching endurance training businesses in Washington, DC and Portland, Oregon to leading business development efforts across the US for the World Adult Kickball Association (WAKA). With over a decade of experience that includes wellness programming, holistic health planning, multisport training, and community development, Brian has cultivated his craft as a health and wellness expert with a burning desire to raise the quality of health in the world. When not at Primary, you’ll likely find Brian watching films, enjoying the great outdoors, loving on his newborn son Henry, and/or trying some sort of healthy concoction.
Leveraging a background in architecture with field construction expertise, Danny has worked on a wide breadth of projects ranging from award winning apartments to $9mm luxury retail flagship stores. On the retail side, he served as Director of Store Development and Construction for Aesop Americas, Senior PM for Kate & Jack Spade, and founding Director of Development for WeWork. With WeWork, Danny oversaw the design and execution of the brand’s first 500,000SF / six locations. When not at Primary, you’ll likely find Danny cycling, jumping on a plane for an overseas adventure, and/or cooking a delicious meal with locally grown produce.
Emma is a self-taught business entrepreneur who grew and ran a high volume website that provided women with all the resources they needed to get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy. Small in stature, Emma is big in spirit and loves the challenges and exhilaration that comes with growing a business. Prior to working in Business Development, Emma worked in Foster Care for one of the largest Child Welfare agencies in NYC. When not at Primary you will likely find Emma taking a barre class or eating the spiciest food she can get her hands on.
As Cafe Manager, Dennis is not only the smiling face behind your morning cup o’ joe, but a community builder who believes the greatest job of a professional barista is to connect the coffee, the story, the flavor, and the people—something he loves to do each day at Primary!
Over the past fifteen years, Dennis has fulfilled many roles at a wide range of New York area restaurants from barista to restaurant manager to wine director. Prior to joining the team at Primary, Dennis managed two successful Third Wave coffee shops where he furthered his knowledge of exceptional espresso preparation and one-of-a-kind customer service.
When not at Primary, Dennis loves to travel the country in search of exceptional food, fine wines, and great times.
