Maximize Your PRIMARY Coworking Experience

Lisa Skye, Co-founder of PRIMARY

Business owners, remote employees, and solopreneurs alike often contemplate the pros and cons of coworking spaces, traditional office space, and working from a home office.

Coworking spaces can provide better amenities and experiences for members, at a fraction of the cost of corporate office space and may reduce the feelings of loneliness from working from home.

People are looking for flexibility in all parts of their lives – and that includes workspaces. PRIMARY co-founder Lisa Skye confirmed that most incoming inquiries are for “flexible contract terms (short-term and/or month-to-month) and to be amongst other people.”

She adds that the general benefits of coworking spaces include “offering an immediate connection to a community of fellow professionals that private office space does not. What sets coworking spaces apart is the team that's in place working to intentionally make meaningful connections between members.”

Additionally, “a community can be formed organically by putting a bunch of people together in the same space, but what can make it thrive more quickly are the people who 'accelerate serendipity' by making meaningful connections happen.”

Coworking spaces have been on the rise since 2006, with them now being commonplace.

Skye shares that PRIMARY Members should take advantage of scheduled events and happy hours to build fruitful connections. Companies can use the fitness classes included in their membership as a team bonding experience.

PRIMARY stands in a league of its own – prioritizing Members’ and its staff’s wellness, while putting effort into helping its Members grow their businesses. Skye says, “we continue to create more opportunities and options for people in the world via the shared economy. Coworking is part of this economy. Sharing physical space with other companies can enhance not only your bottom line -- but also your mental health (interactions in the kitchen, communal spaces, at events, etc) and physical health (at PRIMARY, we place wellness amenities at arm's reach with fitness/meditation classes, Peloton bikes, and showers/locker rooms).”

How can you make the most out of your PRIMARY membership? Here are five things to do monthly:

  • Attend events (especially our happy hours!)

  • Interact with other people in the communal spaces (they are beautiful, full of plants and gorgeous printed imagery of nature... making you feel calm and at ease in your body)

  • Lean into our team to make meaningful connections for you and your business

  • Attend fitness/meditation classes for your physical and mental health

  • Use the showers and locker rooms (head out on a run or Citi bike to work and then freshen up!)

As for Skye? Her three favorite things are the beautiful physical space to work from, bootcamp and meditation classes, and gathering people to connect at happy hours.
