PRIMARY Spotlight: Lillie N. Nkenchor, Esq., LL.M

Sometimes, we all have to participate in tasks that can be unexciting and feel just downright sad.

Fortunately, Lillie N. Nkenchor, Esq., LL.M., the founder of LNN PC, brings a fresh approach, and friendly face, to estate planning. She empowers her clients to live their best lives while guiding them through different seasons of their lives.

Estate planning focuses on the assets you acquire throughout your life, and most importantly, the people that matter most to you.

Nkenchor, a PRIMARY Member since 2020, holds degrees from Rutgers University, Seton Hall School of Law, and Georgetown Law. She was also awarded ’40 Under 40’ recognition from the National Bar Association.

We sat down with Nkenchor, who has almost two decades of experience in the legal field, to learn more about her agency, LNN PC, and how she came to be a PRIMARY Member.

What are a few things readers would be surprised to know about estate planning?

It has nothing to do with wealth and instead is about influencing the people you've left behind. Also, there are many levels of estate planning. You don't have to be wealthy to engage in estate planning. There's a level that's appropriate for you and your current life stage.

Who is your target audience?

Anyone who has a vision to care for the people and assets that are most important. Most of our clients range between the ages of 35 and 70. Thirty percent (30%) of our clients are business owners, which means we have the pleasure of handling not only their estate-planning matters but also their business planning.

Have you had any notable clients?

Yes! We have co-created plans with music executives, fine artists, fashion stylists, professors, and TV personalities.

When did you launch your own firm?

2020. I've worked in this field for 15+ years but took the leap to start my own business in 2020.

When starting to transition to office space, what were some of your non-negotiables?

Volume level; I prefer an office space that is away from loud activity. Storage; as you can imagine, my law firm has quite a bit of documents to manage so I need to be able to put them in a place so that the office doesn't turn into a pile of papers.

How long did it take you to land at PRIMARY?

After just one visit to the office. I think my membership began in 2020.

What were the key amenities that drew you to the space?

The office has traditional amenities; a café, seating area, and cafeteria. Those are pretty standard and didn't sway me per se.

What drew me to the space were the features that allow me to run my business, such as printing privileges, mail pick up, full-time receptionist, lockers for storage, and meeting rooms.

Do you think being at a coworking space has opened up more business opportunities for you vs working from home or having traditional office space?

Absolutely. Not only have some of my clients been fellow PRIMARY Members, but seeing other people work on their projects is inspiring and allows me to focus on my projects which creates opportunities.

What are you looking forward to in 2024?

Creating a good rhythm between being a new mom and entrepreneurship...and returning to the office!
