Lisa skye hain - Ceo/co-founder
As a magnetic leader, poised public speaker, and master networker, Lisa has spent a lifetime amidst thriving small businesses. She managed two restaurants in Danny Meyer’s hospitality empire, worked on a top residential & commercial real estate sales team with The Corcoran Group, built one of the world’s largest and most prosperous Manhattan BNI (Business Network International) chapters, and served as WeWork’s founding Head of Community — overseeing operations for their first 275 offices. When not at Primary, you’ll likely find Lisa traveling with Brian and their babies Henry and Hawk, practicing hot yoga, and/or eating coconut peanut butter.
Jimmy PArk - VP of operations and marketing
Jimmy Park brings experience in building and scaling businesses in both startups and publicly traded companies. He has deep knowledge in technology, online strategies, operations and finance. In 2012, he was responsible for all aspects of the digital media teams for “12/12/12 Concert for Sandy Relief,” which raised over $68 million dollars and generated more than two billion social impressions worldwide. Recently, Jimmy sold his company Techwood Consulting and is an equity partner and advisor to several companies. Jimmy is an alumnus of the University of Florida, Rollins College and the Harvard Business School.
In his free time, Jimmy is an avid rock climber and also active in competitive jiu jitsu.
Danny Orenstein - Co-founder
Leveraging a background in architecture with field construction expertise, Danny has worked on a wide breadth of projects ranging from award winning apartments to $9m luxury retail flagship stores. On the retail side, he served as Director of Store Development and Construction for Aesop Americas, Senior PM for Kate & Jack Spade, and founding Director of Development for WeWork. With WeWork, Danny oversaw the design and execution of the brand’s first 500,000SF / six locations. When not at Primary, you’ll likely find Danny cycling, jumping on a plane for an overseas adventure, and/or cooking a delicious meal with locally grown produce.
Sona Banker - CFO
Sona is an independent strategic and financial consultant with over 10 years experience advising start-ups and small companies with a range of services delivered, include financial modeling, strategic planning, support through the capital-raising process, and acting CFO services. She has been advising businesses on their finances and strategy since 2003 and started Banker Financial Consulting, LLC in 2010.
Sona is a CFA charterholder and received a B.A. with Honors in Economics from the University of Chicago where she also ran cross country and track. When she is not helping her clients on their finances or business plans, she can be found tracking the stock markets, running, traveling, or baking.
TIM SIMPSON - gENERAL MANAGER, FIdI
Tim is a dedicated hospitality professional bringing with him a decade of experience. His career has spanned the hotel industry serving as the General Manager during the development and operation of lifestyle boutique hotels and has most recently worked for The Harvard Club of New York. Tim is passionate about hospitality and utilizes his hands-on leadership style to inspire authenticity and cammaraderie that ultimately engages both his team and guests in a meaningful way.
When not at Primary Tim enjoys the outdoors, movies with his wife and is actively involved in his church and community.
KRISTINE SCOTTO - GENERAL mANAGER, pENN sTATION
Kristine is excited to join Primary as the General Manager for Primary Penn Station. She has experience in developing operations and marketing standards, and has contributed to start-up entrepreneurial organizations and large scale multinational corporations. Kristine looks forward to bringing these skills to continue to cultivate the Primary community at the newest location.
Kristine combines her two passions for meeting new people and planning events by serving as the Vice Chair for the Special Events Committee for the New York Chapter of CoreNet Global. When not at Primary, Kristine loves traveling to explore different cultures, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
MELISSA estrada- Lead Luminary, Penn Station
Melissa grew up in Colombia, South America and had a lifelong dream of attending college in New York. She is a recent Communication and Media Arts graduate from Marymount Manhattan College, where she was immersed in the school’s interdisciplinary studies program. Melissa focused on her passions for both people and art in studying the way aesthetics impact individuals’ views of themselves and their self-worth.
When not at Primary, you can find Melissa finding ways to embrace her bicultural background, taking dance classes, reading, practicing mindfulness, or walking her two dogs around the lake in Sussex County, New Jersey.
Khensani Mathebula - Lead LUMINARY, FIDI
Khensani is often the first face you see upon entering Primary. Her favorite word is “shine”— very fitting since she illuminates our space with warmth, wonder, and joy! Aside from being an experienced administrative pro, she is a professional modern dancer and choreographer as well!
She loves making connections with our members and building community. She will welcome you and your guests with her signature smile, and probably strike a few dance moves around the office too. When she’s not at Primary, you’ll likely find Khensani in dance class, rehearsal, or dancing her heart out on stage.
TINA FUN - COMMUNITY MANAGER, FIDI
Tina is a strategic thinker with a creative mindset that enjoys being challenged with new ideas and tasks. Once excelling as one of the first several hires at TripeLift, where she managed accounts and grew the partner network, she knew she needed to flex her own entrepreneurial muscles. With a strong desire to continue to learn, Tina started her own company, Hao Fun, a marketplace for goods inspired from her personal experiences in travel, culture, wellness, and the idea of an ever expanding lifestyle.
With Tina’s previous experience in business development, account management, and starting a small business, she is excited to turn her passion for connecting and helping people into growth for the Primary community.
When not at Primary, you’ll likely find Tina traveling the world, hosting board game nights, and reading in her hammock!
Efrain Morales - Accounts coordinator
Born and raised in Queens, Efrain received his degree in Psychology from the University at Buffalo. Also known as Frankie, he was admitted at a young age to the Prep for Prep program; a leadership development program which places young students of color into NYC’s top private schools.
Currently, he is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. When not at Primary, he enjoys playing basketball, video games and exploring new types of cuisine.
KRISTINA KINDSETH - LUMINARY
All smiles when walking through Primary doors, Kristina is often the first Primary team member you'll meet upon arriving at Primary's flagship. She is also a certified yoga instructor, Soulcycle enthusiast, and marathon runner. Her love for fitness and nutrition is constantly growing, as she has begun to explore the culinary world and create her own recipes, everything from Thai cuisines to deliciously baked chocolate chip cookies!
When not at Primary, she loves to spend her time interior designing and doing DIY projects. Keep an eye out for this lovely lady running in Central Park, spinning at Soulcycle, practicing her yoga, or shopping in HomeGoods stores!
Elizabeth Scholnick - Luminary
A born and raised New Yorker, Elizabeth studied photography at the School of Visual Arts. When not working at Primary, she is a writer and filmmaker. She's a Reiki Practitioner, and a yoga certified instructor. She believes connecting to nature to be the key component to ultimate health and well being, as well as putting love first in everything and anything you do. She loves bagels and lox from Russ & Daughters when she wants to treat herself! She likes to run, bike, and box. She goes to the MET and the MoMA often. Strand Book Store is her church, so if she ever goes missing you can check there first. She practices gratitude everyday, once in the morning and once at night, and believes in the magic of trusting your intuition to take you where you need to be, following your pings, and allowing the universe to give you what you need when you need it.
Joshua Bell - Porter
Joshua is a born and bred New Yorker. He brings with him experience from both the restaurant and hospitality industry. You can find him at both of our locations keeping our space neat, tidy, and assisting with any handy needs.
Joshua is an avid sports fan who enjoys basketball the most. He also has a secret passion: cooking, and his cuisine of choice is Chinese. When not at Primary you can find him either at the gym or playing a game of basketball with friends.
ERNESt green - barista
Ernest James Green is a comedian, writer, and actor who has lived in New York for 3 years. Ernest is from Cincinnati, OH and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Communications.
Ernest loves to play video games, play/watch basketball, listen to a wide variety of music, (though favors Golden Age Hip-Hop, Kanye West and Coltrane) watch amazing films and phenomenal television, read dope books, and eat great food. He loves to talk to interesting people, have enlightening conversations, and learn new things. Most importantly, he loves to laugh and make others laugh as well.
Lukas Meyer-Daetsch - LUMINary
Born and raised in Switzerland, Lukas moved to New York in December 2017. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, and is passionate about International Relations, making him the perfect fit for the cosmopolitan community at Primary. With his natural curiosity, Lukas loves meeting new people and learning about their stories and passions.
When not at Primary, Lukas is following one of his many interests, and might be found in one of New York’s independent movie theaters, vinyl record stores or sport stadiums, enjoying a basketball or football game.
